“My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep; the more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite.” – Romeo and Juliet, Act II Scene II
I once felt in a fleeting moment what it was to be loved. I have loved, and still love to this day, but for what was seemingly a split second in my life I learned what it was like to feel true love returned to me. In that moment the universe stood still and I was happy, truly and completely happy.
I know true love on many levels. My children are always showing me new ways that they love me and in turn I love them deeper every day. I love my friends and family, and am loyal to them as they are to me. We invest in each other in ways that stretch each other, challenge each other, and nurture growth. Love is constantly evolving and where and how I experience it is always changing. But in that moment when the universe stood still, I shared a love with another in a way that redefined what being loved really meant. And as quickly as it came, it too passed.
There have been few instances where I have felt true love, but what I experienced in that moment for the first time was two people who found perfection in each other, heart to heart. A love so fierce it could tear the universe apart, yet the same love that holds it together.
“All these years, all these memories, there was you. You pull me through time.” – Tommy Creo, The Fountain
